If you’ve never heard of Fossil Cycad National Park, don’t feel bad, because it doesn’t actually exist. Not anymore, anyway. Well, technically it never did — it was a terrific idea in theory and on paper, but unfortunately it was one that would never be realized.
We stopped at the former site briefly in Episode 3 of Prehistoric Road Trip, and there’s more history about it in this Atlas Obscura article: The National Park that was Stolen to Death.
