Extinct White Whale (Livyatan melvillei)
The extinct sperm whale Livyatan melvillei was massive when it was alive some 12-13 million years ago: the skull alone was around 10ft / 3m long. This painting was commissioned for a fellow marine fossil lover who wanted to add something to help show off its impressive scale, so we settled on a child’s awe, trying to capture the moment where she’s not quite sure to move closer or run away.

Shipping is available worldwide and each order will be sent within 5-7 business days. All small prints are carefully packed flat. Larger prints, over 16” on one side, will be sent in a mailing tube.
